It's no secret that i work for MobiTV. So, when the Palm Pre launched a few days ago it was (is) a big deal for us because we power Sprint TV (which looks amazing on this device).

So you know how, when you get engaged, there are thing you love about him/her and things you wish he/she had from your past relationships? Hence...The Palm Pre.I love this phone. I truly do. So much so that...so far...like my fiance, it has WAY more good than bad. So I think I'll keep it as I will keep her. There is little missing that can't be fixed with software updates, just like, with some therapy, my fiance would be PERFECT!!!
WHAT? Who compares a phone to a fiance? I'm sorry to say this "David10240" but your fiance is either a complete idiot for agreeing to marry you or women are getting more desperate. On the other hand, maybe your fiance doesn't know you wrote this ridiculous review. In any case, I'd like to thank your fiance for taking you off the market- one less idiot single man left in this world.

I work on the fifth floor of my building which means that i have the option of taking a short elevator ride or hiking five flights of stairs each morning. Since i sit and face a computer screen all day i always opt for the stairs which can be awkward if you happen to walk into the building with someone b/c 9 times out of 10 they will opt for the elevator. I despise that awkward moment when i have to peel away from that person, veering toward the stair case while they gravitate toward the elevator and the morning banter eases on. "I'll see you up there...I'm going to take the stairs", i try to utter in a non-nonchalant fashion without interrupting. The person always gives me a swift odd glance (which i interpret as 'sucker' or, 'hmm, maybe i should be taking the stairs as well') and we part ways.
This exchange used to bother me until yesterday morning. I did indeed arrive at the same time as a colleague but this time a man was standing at the elevator door entrance shooing people away. He didn't actually use words to communicate that the elevator was out of commission- it was strictly a non-verbal wafting of his arms with his back to the elevator door. His efforts were accompanied by yellow barricades depicting a person who had allegedly slipped on the floor- message received. So, up the stairs everyone went. When i arrived at my desk, my friend and colleague, Alexis pulled me over to relay her horrific tale of being trapped in that elevator at 8 am that morning. As she was giving me the play-by-play, many thoughts entered my head all of which were out shined by my utter relief that the odds of that happening to me were diminished b/c of my stair taking routine. That, and naturally i was relieved that she was ok. She then told me that she called her boyfriend while she was stuck in the pitch black elevator and he'd said to her, 'well, that sucks, doll, but at least you don't have to poop. That'd be the worst.' I of course thought that was hilarious and very typical of a guy (always listeing to physicality of their bodies). She, however was not so amused. Moral of the story- take the stairs b/c getting trapped really does happen. And although i could easily slip and fall down the stairs, I'll take my chances.

Last Saturday, Jamie, Joe and I went to visit Kyrsten and see how she was doing as a new mommy. When we arrived, Westerly was sleeping soundly in her swing. This baby is so precious and so peaceful. I swear it's all the reggae music they listen to. We stayed for about an hour and she barely stirred even as we passed her around taking turns holding her.
Hugo took this pic as i proudly announced that it was our first of many pictures together. It's funny, i always wondered why my mom insisted I call women who i clearly wasn't related to growing up, 'aunt so-and-so'. Now i know b/c i am that 'aunt so-and-so' to my friends kids.
There must be something wrong with me. It has been just over a month since my return from New Zealand and I'm already aching to search all the travel sites and pick my next destination...mmm, I'm thinking South America. Maybe it's because there are so many good deals out there or maybe it's something bigger- a call to do something grandious with my life like move away to another country.
My highly developed reasoning abilities then kick-in and I realize that the responsible thing to do is stay put. It's important to save money in this economy despite all the 'great deals'. Well, that's true, angel on my shoulder but it's also critical for my sanity to live my life and spend that hard earned money on things that make me happy- #1 being traveling. I no longer prioritize living on my own b/c that means i really couldn't justify a $2K plane ticket to some undiscovered haven.
The more i think about it the more obsessed i become. The moment i start to lean toward the mature decision, aka delayed gratification (damn angel), i open my email and there are no less than 15 emails from various travel sites and airlines. Is it a sign or a test? The whole debate exhausts me. I think i need a vacation.
